Simple Visits...

Love is making the other person feel like the most important person in the room.

I heard on Oprah once that a powerful concept in being a parent is to make your kid feel like the most important person in the world when they walk in the door. Your face should light up. Even though I don't have kids (except on Sunday mornings) I try to practice this concept with everyone else in my life. Today, I saw love when I was on the receiving end. I went to visit my Aunt Flora. I love this lady. She's always been my favorite of Gran's sisters and probably for this reason. No matter that she just got out of the hospital with pneumonia, she was genuinely delighted to see me, as I was to see her. She's 89 and is both sweet and sassy. Never fails, she always tells me at least 4 times in our visits, "I just love you, hun." We have a running joke that I am her favorite of Grandma's grandkids. I know.. you're shocked by that. She's amazing, she's Gran's best friend, and she is pure love. :0)
